Fred Abong's latest LP, titled "Fear Pageant," out July 20th, embarks on a captivating sonic journey, building upon the exploratory nature of his debut full-length album from last year, "Yellowthroat." While "Yellowthroat" showcased the collaborative efforts between Fred Abong as an artist and producer Rob Ahlers (50 Foot Wave), "Fear Pageant" embraces a more intimate and personal approach. Fred takes the reins of the entire creative process, assuming the roles of songwriter, recording engineer, and producer - enlisting the expertise of Fred Thomas from Michigan for the mastering stage.

The singles released thus far, "My Way" and "Father," offer a tantalizing glimpse into the immersive world crafted throughout the album's captivating 40-minute duration. However, listeners can anticipate even more delights, as "Fear Pageant" beckons those with inquisitive ears and a readiness to delve into an expansive range of thought-provoking themes. Then I watched spellbound in Glasgow last night as Kristin and cello player Pete Harvey brought these songs alive in front of me. I think I forgot to breathe in some parts.
